A quick Thank You!

Hello!
Today is a new challenge at CAS-Colours and Sketches, and this week is a sketch challenge....

Whilst I was making the box card I shared yesterday, I found this flower (from Petal Potpourri) loitering on my desk, so I decided to design my card around it!

I then added a sentiment from Lots of Thanks and a swirl from The New Two, showing that a wedding stamp set isn't just for weddings!

I actually quite like how this card turned out, and I shall be giving it to my neighbour to thank him for looking after our cat every time we go away.

Have a lovely day and I hope to pop to your blog soon :)

A floral card in a box

Good morning everyone!
I hope you are well? As I type this, the sun is shining, so this morning I'm sharing a very summery card...

This card has been made for Keiran's Nanna for her birthday today. I haven't made a box card for a while so this was fun to do! I started with an A4 piece of card and scored it along the short edge at 7x7cm, then along the long edge at 7, 14, 21 and 28cm, but just as for as my first scoreline.

I added 3 strips of card inside the card to hold the flowers, each was 9cm x 1cm and scored at 1cm from eacn end. I used various Stampin' Up! flower and butterfly stamp and punch sets to create this lovely summer display!

I finished with a die cut butterfly from the Butterfly Thinlits and the sentiment from Memorable Moments. The great thing about this style of card is that they can be folded flat for postage...isn't that brilliant?!

I hope you have a lovely day planned....I think we are having a day in Southport :)
See you tomorrow with my DT card for CAS-Colours and Sketches.

Cute baby easel card!

Good morning!
Today I'm going to show you a card I made a while ago for a customer order.

I used the very cute Baby We've Grown set (only available to order until June 1st) for the cute little shoes, and an old, retired set for the two sentiments. I die cut the sentiment panel using one of the Apothecary Accents Framelits, and used Sweet Dreams DSP and some Blushing Bride Chevron Ribbon to make it 'girly'!

To create the stamping on the name, I first die cut the Little Letters and lined them up against a straight line...I used my Grid Paper for this. I then stamped onto the letters, then onto the card panel. I lined up the letters with the base stamping and popped them up on Dimensionals. This was a really subtle way to make the new baby's name the main focus of the card.

What are your plans for today? We don't have any yet, but I'm sure it will involve a day out somewhere!
Have a good one, whatever you're doing!

A little metal...

Hey all!
Have you got a weekend of fun planned for this bank holiday? I am working, sadly, but we are going to Southport for a few days on Monday, which I am very much looking forward to!

I would like to welcome yet another new follower, Deborah to my little blog. She is incredible at colouring...you should check her cards out!

So today's card has been made for the new challenge over at Less Is More...it's been a long time since I entered on a Saturday morning! The recipe this week is ...
METAL

So here is my offering...

I used Work Of Art for this male card (yay a male card!). I masked off the middle section before stamping the long stamp in Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake and Tip Top Taupe, then scored across the panel.

The sentiment is from Remembering Your Birthday and stamped in Crumb Cake. I finished with a Gold Basic Metal Button along with some Linen Thread.

I'm off to work now...I hope you have a lovely weekend!

A notebook for Dad

Good morning!
Today I wanted to show you a notebook I have decorated to add to my Father's Day style gifts at the next craft fair I am doing...

I used the fabby Six Sided Sampler and matching punch, and stamped them in various shades of brown (not grey! ;) )

I cut out the word 'notes' using the Little Letters Thinlits...I lined them up on the card and used the Magnetic Bigshot Platform to keep them in place.

Keiran is doing a sponsored 2 mile run today for a local charity...I reckon he'll manage it no problem!

Have a lovely Friday!

Kinda colourful!

Hello everyone and thank you for joining me today!
I have my DT card for CAS-Colours and Sketches to show you today, but before I do, let me show you the colours we are working with this week...

I did actually make a card with similar colours earlier this week, not realising they were so close to our challenge! Anyway, here is my DT card...

I have used Kinda Eclectic for my card...it's one of my 'go to' set at the moment. It has everything, don't you think? Butterflies, lovely sentiment, leaves, the sun...

I finished the butterfly by adding a gem that I coloured with a Stampin' Write Marker and set it with some Crystal Effects.

We've had lots of gorgeous entries into last week's sketch challenge...I really think we're going to struggle to pick our favourites this time! We're looking forward to a similar high quality of entries this week!

A sunshiney get well wish.

Good evening!
I know I'm a bit late today, but I didn't get round to crafting last night, so I made today's card this afternoon, especially to enter into a couple of challenges....

Less Is More, where the theme is 'Hello Sunshine', and Freshly Made Sketches....

Here's my sunny card...

I have used Kinda Eclectic again (getting my money's worth!) and stamped the 'sunburst' onto the shaped panel (from Chalk Talk Framelits), then lined it up and stamped onto my card too. I added some Crushed Curry Stitched Satin Ribbon across the panel and mounted it onto the new Delightful Dijon card blank. The shaped panel was popped up on Dimensionals.

I then added a pair of butterflies stamped in Rich Razzleberry onto Vellum, with a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes, also stamped on Vellum. The card is finished with some Candy Dots from the Brights collection.

I have some TV to catch up on tonight, so I'll go now and catch up with you tomorrow with my DT card for CAS-Colours and Sketches.

Petals, flourishes and butterflies!

Good morning!
Before I show you today's card, I would like to welcome my newest follower, Anna! I hope you enjoy my little blog!

So today's card was actually made weeks ago, I just haven't blogged it yet!

I have used Bermuda Bay and Hello Honey on my card...2 colours I think go very well together! The flower is from Petal Potpourri and I punched it with the matching punch.

The swirl is from Flowering Flourishes and the butterfly from Butterfly Basics. The sentiment is from Petite Pairs and I coloured it using my Stampin' Write Markers.

If you would like to order any of the products I have used today, please use the link to my online shop over there on the right>>>

Over this week I hope to show you some of the fabulous swaps I got this weekend in Telford...so much wonderful inspiration!

Bye for today...hope you have a good one!

Tip Top Taupe for a tip top day!

Hi everyone!
I know this is a late post but I have been at the Stampin' Up! Regional Training event all day, and I realised as I set off this morning that I had forgotten to type up this post!

So, better late than never, and as promised yesterday, here is the final card from my In Colour 2015/2017 showcase...

I have used some of the lovely new Tip Top Taupe card stock and teamed it with some of the stunning new Neutrals Designer Paper...don't they go well together??

You can't really see it on this photo but the DSP has a slight sheen to it, which is just lush!
I used Label Love and the matching punch for the sentiment with a little Baker's Twine looped behind it.

This stamp set and punch are retiring this time around, so if you'd like to get your hands on them before they do, just click on the link to my online shop over there on the right >>>>>>

I had a brilliant day today, catching up with old friends and meeting new ones, and had a lovely journey down with fellow demo Em...oh and lots of swaps!

I am now off to admire some of those swaps, soak up some inspiration, then enjoy my dinner, cooked by my wonderful Mike as I type this, and a glass (or 3!) of red wine!

Have a lovely evening all!

A little Kindness...

Good morning!
It's a gorgeous sunny day today, so I am going to share a gorgeous sunny card with you!

I have used another 2 brand new In Colours, and just one stamp set for this card. Kinda Eclectic is the stamp set and I used Delightful Dijon and Cucumber Crush along with Elegant Eggplant.

The Cucumber Crush was 'stamped off' before I stamped it onto my card, just so I had a lighter shade of green. I finished with Basics Rhinestones.

I really love this stamp set...it's one of those that I can use almost all the stamps in the set on one card and still manage CAS!

I'm off to Stampin' Up! regional training in Telford tomorrow, and I'm very excited! I love getting together with fellow demos...so much crafting and fun!

Have a lovely day, and pop back here tomorrow to see the final new In Colour!

Painted Birthday Blooms

Hello again!
Today is our new sketch challenge at CAS-Colours and Sketches, and this week is a fab sketch from Stef!

I love this sketch...here's what I did with it...

This was a very simply created card...I die cut the 3 different sized squares, then popped a piece of Painted Blooms behind it. I rounded off the corners of both my panel and the card.

The sentiment is a combination from Teeny Tiny Sentiments and Celebrate Today. I finished with 3 Basics Rhinestones coloured with Stampin' Write Markers.

We're looking forward to seeing you wonderful entries!

If you would like to order any current products from my online shop, please just use the link on the right! >>>>>>>

Have a lovely Thursday and I'll see you tomorrow with another New Catalogue sneak peek!

Cucumber and Watermelon cocktail!

Good morning!
So today, I am showing you how well two of the new In Colours go together....

Now I must admit, when I saw the very vibrant Cucumber Crush I wasn't sure if I would like it. But, as usual, after having a play, it turns out I do! Isn't it a fresh colour??

I teamed it with Watermelon Wonder to create this summery card, using flowers from Pictogram Punches and Petite Petals, the swirl from Everything Eleanor, the sentiment from Lots of Thanks and Gorgeous Grunge in the background! I know, a lot of stamp sets but we all have a lot right?? The sentiment banner was shaped by popping the end into the Petite Curly Label punch and snipping it off...isn't it sweet??

I love how fresh this card is and I can see me using this colour combo in the future!

If you would like to order any current products from my online shop, please just use the link on the right! >>>>>>>

I'd love it if you join me tomorrow for my DT card for CAS-Colours and Sketches...hope to see you then!

In Colour sneak peek day 2!

Hello, hello!
As promised, today I am showing you another of the gorgeous In Colours for 2015-2017...here it is...

This wonderful coral colour is Watermelon Wonder...isn't it lush?! It works so beautifully with the Bermuda Bay too, don't you think?

I embossed the base card with the Spring Flowers embossing folder, which is in the Spring/Summer catalogue but only until 31st May! The butterflies are from Papillon Potpourri and the sentiment is from Remembering your Birthday, punched with the Elegant Label punch.

Do pop back tomorrow to see some more upcoming products!

Sneak Peek week...Mint Macaron!

Good morning everyone!
I am very excited this morning and for a Monday that's a good thing! As you may (or may not know), There will be a brand new Stampin' Up! annual catalogue coming out on the 2nd June, and I have some of the new products to show you!

This week I plan to show you some of the new In Colours and one of the new paper stacks!

So here is the first sneak peek! Are you ready??

So this gorgeous colour is one of the brand new In Colours, Mint Macaron. Isn't it gorgeous?? I have teamed it here with Soft Sky Seam Binding and Stitched Satin ribbon, so you can see how well they go together!

Did you notice the lovely DSP?? This is one of the designs in the brand new Neutrals Paper Stack, and what doesn't show very well is that it has a silver sheen! It really is gorgeous! The stunning butterfly is from the Butterfly Basics Framelits and is inked with the Mint Macaron....yummy!

I hope you have a lovely Monday and I hope you'll join me tomorrow for another Sneak Peek!

Leftovers for Dad!

Hello everyone!
As I type this I am all set for my Friday craft class, and I have another new lady to welcome to it! I can't wait!

This is one of the cards we made last night, using up a couple of leftover stars from the card I blogged on Thursday, which was also one of our class cards.

Can you spot the leftovers? Yup, the stars! I have a horrible habit of leaving useful bits on my desk with the intention of using them, then never get round to it, so I am trying to stop that by using them straight away! The stars were die cut using Stars Framelits and were added to the panel after I wrapped a piece of Chevron Ribbon around it.

The sentiment is another 'half/half'...the 'Happy' is from Celebrate today, and I created the banner by stamping onto a strip on card, then punching one end with the Bitty Banner punch, and the 'Father's Day' is from Crazy About You. Both are stamped in Chocolate Chip and I finished with a Choc Chip Candy Dot.

I am quite pleased how well I am getting on with my Father's Day bits...I have some notebooks to share later this week too!

Have a lovely Saturday, and I may be back tomorrow with the last of the 3 cards we made last night in class.

Friday 8 May 2015

Gardening with Dad!

Good morning all!
The sun is shining, it's Friday, and it's nearly the weekend...time for some gardening?

I am having a stall at a couple of craft fairs this month so I have decided to make a few small, inexpensive gifts that children can buy for their Dads, and here is one of them...

This little bag has affectionately become known as the 'Hallett Bag', named after the lovely lady, Caroline, who created a brilliant video on how to make it, which you can find here.

The measurements are below...
DSP - 3.5in x 12in
Base - 2.5in x 5.25in, scored at 1/2 inch all the way round.
Handles - 1/2in x 8in
Top and bottom strips - 12in x 1/2in

I filled mine with a few little gardening goodies...seeds, little pots and plant markers.

The tag is made using the Scallop Tag Topper Punch and is stamped with 'Happy' from Celebrate Today and 'Father's Day' from Crazy About You.

Aren't they cute?? I hope to make a few more of these...they only take a few minutes each and I really love how they look!

I hope you have a lovely sunny Friday!
