Spring Flowers and butterflies

Good morning crafty peeps!
Ok, so I hoe you're not fed up of butterflies? No? Oh good cos here's another!

This card is a bit simpler than yesterday's, but still involves 2 butterflies. I die cut them from Calypso Coral and Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock (the latter being a bit of Core'dinations I had left). The middle panel was stamped in Pear Pizzazz with the hexagons from Butterfly Basics, then embossed with the Spring Flowers EF. I also stamped the same hexagons onto the card blank.

The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments and punched with the Word Window. I finished with Basic Pearls for a touch of added elegance.

These are the challenges I'm entering my card into....

*EDIT* I got Top Pick at Stampin' Royalty! :)

A screwed up butterfly!

Hello!
I hope you have had a good week? Mine has definitely had ups and downs, but I have some quality time with Mike to look forward to this weekend!

Today I am sharing a card I made on Wednesday. I really do have a thing for the Butterfly Framelits at the moment, so here they are again!

I really do love how delicate this particular one is...very lacy looking! I did something a little different with this one...I die cut the top butterfly then drew round it and cut out the bottom solid one. Then, whilst I was rubbing out the pencil lines, I annoyingly caught the edge and creased it! But, then I had an idea...I screwed the butterfly up, as you would, but nope, I didn't throw it away!

Instead, I inked the butterfly with Melon Mambo, and it really brought out the creases to look like folds of the wings! I also inked the die cut one, and then rubbed with Versamark and heat embossed with Dazzling Diamonds Stampin' Emboss.

The window was created by using the Window Frames Collection Framelits, and I stamped the flowers from Painted Petals in the window. I finished with Rhinestone Basics Jewels and the sentiment from Butterfly Basics, which I fussy cut out using my paper snips.

I should say that this card is an A5 card, which is why I can get all the yummy white space with such a big butterfly!

I have a couple of challenges I would like to enter my card into...

I hope you have a lovely day today and a fab weekend planned!

Sweet Baby

Good morning!
It's our new challenge at CAS-Colours and Sketches this week, and it's a sketch...

Isn't it a fabby sketch? I decided to add to my stock of new baby cards....

I used my favourite baby set, Sweetest Gift. I stamped the sentiment onto the Vellum Cardstock in Baked Brown Sugar, and coloured the letters to match the lovely Lullaby DSP.

I added the circle sentiment which I heat embossed in Clear Stampin' Emboss after I cut it out, to give it a little shine. The Pumpkin Pie Chevron Ribbon and pearls gave a lovely finishing touch, don't you think??

What will you make for your entry? Remember to keep it CAS and follow the sketch...we can't wait to see! :)

A bit of orange...

Good morning!
Today I'm showing you the last card I made on my very productive Wednesday last week...

I have used Kinda Eclectic and Lots Of Thanks. I stamped the sunburst in Tangelo Twist, then die cut it using the Window Frames Framelits. I stamped my sentiment in Basic Grey.

I added my double layered butterfly and finished with a Candy Dot. I know this is an unusual colour combo, but I think I like it!

I am entering my card into a couple of challenges...

Four Feathers for a birthday

Brrrr it's cold and very windy this morning! I really am looking forward to spring...my garden needs a lot of work doing to it!

Today I have a card I made using a little strip of DSP I found whilst looking for something else!

I then stamped and heat embossed the 2 larger feathers from Four Feathers in Gold Stampin' Emboss and the small one in Baked Brown Sugar. I then die cut them using the matching dies, which when bought together gets you 15% off!

I tied a piece of Linen Thread in a bow and finished with part of a sentiment from the Remembering Your Birthday set.

I am linking my card to a sketch challenge this morning...

I will be battling the wind for the school run and my walk to work this morning...I hope you have a lovely day, whatever you're doing!

A male birthday card!

Good morning!
After yesterday's snow today is gorgeous and sunny! It is also back to school day...I'm going to miss my little man...we've had a lovely week off!

Anyway, here is one of the cars I made last week....a man birthday card!

As you will notice, I don;t tend to make a lot of man cards...I'm not very good at them, but I quite like this one! I first of all stamped my white panel with one of the stamps from Celebrate Today in Marina Mist. I then paper pierced around the edges of the Marina Mist panel using the Paper Piercing Essentials Pack and the Piercing Tool.

The letters were made using the Simply Pressed Clay, and once dried I used the same stamp to add some colour to them. I attached them using Tombow Multipurpose Glue.

I really like how this came out and I think I will be playing with the clay letters a lot more in the near future!

I used a sketch challenge for my layout today...

Happy Monday!

Spring flower on a snowy day!

Good afternoon all!
Wow the snow is really coming down here! If it hadn't rained so much first, we'd have a really good covering all ready, but so far it just isn't sticking :( Oh well!

So here is a pretty, spring card to share with you...

I used the lovely Crazy About You stamp set and matching Flower Medallion Punch for this one. I stamped the main flower in So Saffron twice, once without re-inking to give the lighter middle part, which I fussy cut out.

I stamped the leaves in Pear Pizzazz and the sentiment in Garden Green. I finished with a Candy Dot.

I do love the yellow/green combo...I got inspiration for this from a challenge...
Colour Throwdown - #330

I hope you're having a lovely, relaxing Sunday...maybe sledging later?? ;)

Kinda Eclectic Butterfly Basics

Good morning!
Well I had the most productive day yesterday, despite having 3 boys running riot in my house! Keiran had 2 friends over, and other than the odd squabble, all survived!

So here is one of the cards I managed to make and probably my favourite too!

I combined two of my favourite sets for this...Butterfly Basics and Kinda Eclectic. I heat embossed the 'seal' with gold Stampin' Emboss, and the sunburst is stamped in Gold Encore.

The stripes were stamped by only inking the stamp once, in Blackberry Bliss, to create the ombre effect and the sentiment is Raspberry Ripple. I finished with Gold Bakers Twine, Gold Sequins and a pair of stamped and punched butterflies.

Isn't the colour combo stunning?? I can't take credit to be fair...it comes courtesy of one of the challenges I am entering...

*EDIT* I got chosen as a ColourQ Courtier! :)

Crafting For All Seasons - Dies and/or Punches

I have some other work to do today...I finally signed up to do the Gym Instructor Level 2 so I will be concentrating on that today!

Have a lovely Friday, and don't worry, only the weekend to go then we can send the kids back to school! ;)

Tangelo Honey Birthday!

Good morning all!
It's time for our new challenge over at CAS-Colours and Sketches and today it's a lovely, vibrant one!

As it's so dull outside, this is sure to brighten your day! :)
So here is what I made...

I have used the Petal Potpourri and matching punch for my card...if you buy the stamp set and punch together, you get 15% off...how great is that?? So I coloured my flower in Tangelo Twist and Hello Honey, and punched it out with the Flower Medallion Punch.

I coloured the middle the same, and punched using the 7/8'' Scallop Circle, and finished with a Daffodil Delight Candy Dot. The background is Gorgeous Grunge, and the banners were punched using the Banner Punch. I finished with a sentiment from Remembering Your Birthday and some Tangelo Twist Stitched Satin Ribbon, which I stapled at each end.

I actually love how this turned out...it's obviously a card for a girl, but it doesn't look too 'girly'!

I have entered my card into the sketch challenge at Techno Stamper

*EDIT* I got Top 3 at Techno Stamper! :)

I hope you enjoy playing in our challenge...looking forward to seeing all your creations! :)

New Home Stampin' Framed

Good afternoon all!
I am sat in my craft room today whilst Keiran and his friend Emily are playing in his bedroom. We have already made 32 rice krispie cakes and had a walk out :)

So I thought I would take this time to blog a little gift I popped in the post all the way to America today, for a friend I met playing Dice With Buddies on my phone lol! Linda has recently moved house so this is a little housewarming gift for her...

I have made her a little frame and matching card, using Butterfly Basics and Painted Petals stamp sets.

Purple is her favourite colour so I'm sure she will love this delicious Blackberry Bliss colour! I used some of the paper from Painted Blooms DSP and some gorgeous Blackberry Bliss Stitched Satin Ribbon. The sentiment is from the retired Holiday Home set.

The framed sentiment is from Feel Goods and to clear emboss it I dabbed the stamp with Versamark before my coloured ink. Then when I stamped it I could add Clear Stampin' Emboss and heat it to give a little shine. I finished with the butterfly stuck on the front of the glass.

I used the sketch at Atlantic Hearts to create the card...

I'm off to get tea on the go now...maybe I will craft later...
Have a lovely evening!

Monday 16 February 2015

We just fit!

Good evening!
As promised, today I am going to show you my Valentine I made for Mike, plus the little gifts I made both Mike and Keiran. So here is the card...

Mike and I have always had a little thing that we say about being each other's missing piece and how we just fit together so well, so I decided to use that as my inspiration. At Christmas I bought him a jigsaw piece keyring so I decided to follow that theme for Valentine's, hence the two jigsaw pieces, which I created by drawing round 2 pieces from one of Keiran's jigsaws!

The sentiment is made using the Simply Serif Alphabet set and is finished with a punched heart from Itty Bitty Accents punch pack and a Candy Dot.

As mentioned, I also made my two lovely boys a little gift each...

I got the marshmallow lollies pre-packed, but had to add my own little something, so I added the little topper. Here's a closer look...

I stamped the biggest heart from Groovy Love and cut round it, then I added the stamped and punched heart and circle, and added the sentiment which I die cut using the Bitty Banners Framelits.

I'm having a family day tomorrow, seeing my parents, Brother and Sis-in-Law and my gorgeous Niece and Nephew...I can't wait! I hope you have a lovely day too!
